Types of Warehouses

There are four main types of Warehouses in Sellercloud. These warehouses include:

  1. Owned Warehouses – “Owned Warehouses” are locations where you own and store inventory. “Owned Warehouses” are set up under Warehouse Type “Normal”. This is usually set as your “Default Warehouse”.

    • Default Warehouse – “Default Warehouses” are the warehouses’ orders will be assigned to by default unless specified in the “Order Rule Engine” or using the “Channel Warehouse” settings under “Companies.”

  2. Interim Warehouses – “Interim Warehouses” are In-Transit warehouses that track inventory moving from one warehouse to the next. This is commonly used in the FBA and WFS workflows.

  3. 3PL/Fulfillment Centers – These warehouses are used for tracking inventory in warehouses being fulfilled through outside parties. These include warehouses like FBA, WFS, Wayfair Castlegate, and any 3PLs you would like to integrate into Sellercloud.

  4. Vendor Warehouses – “Vendor Warehouses” are used to track inventory in your Vendor’s warehouse. This is commonly used for Dropshipping and for purchasing visibility. Vendor Inventory can be used as part of your “Available Inventory” calculation without adjusting the “Physical Inventory” you already own.
